I have (at least two) reminisces of canoe trips.
1) They were often on the same week-end as the opening of trout season so there were many people standing in the middle of the stream. They seemed to think that the 20 guys in the canoes were experts and could control them perfectly, so they never moved. Also they would get mad if you yelled out that you were going to hit them because the noise scared the fish away.
2) We would go to church on Sunday morning and as we walked in everyone turned around to look at us because our clothes smelled of the smoke from our cooking fires.
