Put-In-Bay 1933

Putty-in-Bay is a village on Bass Island in Lake Erie about 15 miles from Sandusky, Ohio.  Every September for decades the Boy Scouts have held a Camporee in September on the island to commemorate the Battle of Lake Erie where Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry defeated the British fleet during the War of 1912.  Scouts camp at the foot of the Perry Memorial and take part in a Grand Parade on the Island that features dignitaries and local high school bands.
