The purpose of the Troop 194 alumni association is to build fellowship among all Scouts. We aspire to perpetuate the growth of Scouting through the power of Scout leadership and mentoring. We hope to rekindle the fire that engages all Scout alumni in a way that models the Scout Oath and Law, demonstrates leadership and inspires others. The Scout Troop 194 Alumni Association accomplishes their mission and vision through Scout recognition, networking, service and support of our local communities. All Scouts and alumni are encouraged to get involved, volunteer and stay in touch.
Minutes of Alumni Meeting 9/16/2026
Health and Welfare:
Leon Franks will be 100 years old next year for the 105 Anniversary of the troop. He expects to be there. He is excepting letters and cards at 9080 Columbia, Redford Township. MI 48239 or a phone call at 313-937-1091.
(He will be the keynote speaker next year.)
Dick Long wife Kitty is now in assisted living, and Dick had a cardiac issue where additional stints had to be placed. Please keep both in our prayers and thoughts.
Active Troop report:
There was an open house with the troop on 9/10/2026. There is now a cub pack associated with the troop with 15 members. There are 4 possible prospects who are interested in joining 194. The four 194 scouts that attended Mackinac Island Service Camp are still with the troop.
The 2027 Mackinac Island Service will be July 17th to 24th with an alternative date of July 25th to August 1st. Troop 194 again will be the hosting troop.
Troop fund raiser:

The next committee meeting for the 105th anniversary will be held on Wednesday October 15th at 6:00pm at Mama Mia’s at Grand River and Beech Daly Rd. All are welcome to attend. Tentative date of Saturday June 26th, 2027 at the AOH hall on Five mile
Christmas Party:
This year’s party will be held on December 9th at 6:00pm at Mama Mia’s at Grand River and Beech Daly. Please RSVP to Dan by November 23rd so that the restaurant may be notified.
